Black Box worked with Christina Perri to deliver her fans a special product offering and generate non-music revenue for Christina, through a quarterly box subscription by Fanjoy. Selling a quarter box subscription allowed Black Box to leverage Christina’s likeness, and 7 million Facebook Likes, to generate new revenue.

Each quarter, Christina will curate a new box to be sent out to her subscribers. These boxes will feature products that she uses, likes, or endorses. Each box gives her fans a new insight into Christina’s personality.
Christina announces each box on her social media outlets, teasing the box theme, or some products that might be in it. After the boxes have shipped, she posts an “unboxing” video, explaining why each item is in the box.

Because Christina has such a large and loyal following, brands are eager to donate, or severely discount, their products to be in the box. Because of this, Fanjoy is able to keep the cost of goods within the box low, in order to maximize profits for Christina.

If Christina is able to convert just 5,000 of her 7 million Facebook Likes into subscribers, she could stand to make over $400,000 annually.
